Slip into the trainer role with your small group already during the face-to-face event (after a preparation phase) in order to try out the Padlet, Mentimeter or Mural presented so far yourself and to receive feedback.
To avoid a tool battle, we focus on the best-in-class systems. At the end of the module, we classify the tools presented so far. You'll also have a checklist that includes relevant tool alternatives in each category according to price and GDPR criteria.

Liberating Structures allow trainers to design seminars openly and to find solutions together with their participants. In this session, we will look at two specific examples of the implementation and at the end of the day you will also receive a small "reference book" with further options for your own seminars.
Interactive exercises are at the heart of good training. In this module, you will learn how you can incorporate playful elements and entire seminar games (serious games) online to suit your target group.
No trainer uses seminar games just for the sake of it. You will therefore learn how to ensure the transfer after a seminar game and how to select the right seminar game for your group. At the end of the module, you will have mastered the "art of debriefing" and will take home a tool that will help you put together meaningful debriefing questions.

All the exercises, mini-tasks and challenges up to this point are now paying off: You present your own 12-minute training sequence in the role of trainer and receive constructive feedback from the group. This test drive prepares you for exam situations and is a further building block towards confident online moderation.
Part two of the module: Difficult situations online (Difficult participants). Online, too, a group is much more than the sum of its members. Unfortunately, you lose a group faster online than in the real seminar room. Therefore, we look at a specific situation, "the challenging participant", and develop a solution approach for it in small groups. You will then receive further approaches to solving certain difficult situations in the online seminar.
"What do I need to be aware of when moderating in an online setting? What are the differences between online and "real-life moderation"? What pitfalls do I need to watch out for?"
On this Saturday, you will take on the role of trainer yourself and carry out your prepared exercise with us as a test participant. In order to give all participants enough time for training and joint reflection, this last module takes place in the morning and, if necessary, in the afternoon.

Microsoft Teams has enjoyed an unprecedented triumph over the past year. Although it was not developed for continuing education, today de facto many trainings take place online on it.
In this training round, there is time to properly understand the roles and functions of teams and to become familiar with one or another pitfall of the system. We also look at how to conduct surveys internally in the system and which Team features are better not used at the moment because they are not yet mature.

This round is about what comes after your marketing: sales. It's the last mile on the road to sales as a trainer.
We'll show you what you need to pay attention to in order to sell effectively via Zoom calls and telephone and to keep an eye on all your potential, existing and previous customers.
We teach a fair but highly process-driven approach to sales, which in our experience makes the difference between destitute and wealthy in the long run.
In this training session, we explore the possibilities that Ki systems offer for trainers. These are still limited, but for certain areas it is worth consulting Ki systems. We will test together,
- How Ki systems react to certain instructions - For which areas of application Ki currently makes the most sense - Where the limits of the application currently lie - and how Ki can be used in the marketing process in particular.The aim of the training session is for you to see through how Ki systems generate results ("internal mechanism") and when it is particularly important to question, correct or even reject Ki output.

Business Trainer Training Online - Your questions, our answers
We will work with you to find alternative dates and make up the modules (i.e. days) that you are unable to attend before or after. It won’t cost you a cent.
Yes, you can successfully take part in our training program without any previous coaching experience.
In every online trainer training course, we have some participants who have neither completed a (specialist) trainer training course nor any other trainer training.
Our content and exercises are designed so that anyone with at least three years of professional experience can join.
If you wish, we can arrange a 2-hour training session (1:1) with you a few days before the start of the online trainer training course entitled “Getting started in the trainer world: How trainers think & training markets”. This appointment costs you nothing.

Yes: You can register for the exam in one of the largest German business training associations, BDVT, register.
There you take the exam “BDVT certified online trainer” exam. Everything we do in our training is designed to help you pass this exam.
In our exam workshop, we prepare you specifically for the tasks, dates, deadlines and formalities and help you with the registration.
We are currently working in the background to ensure that our online trainer training program itself is certified by the BDVT. This seal is called Certified Advanced Training (BDVT).
1) Specialization in business trainer training
We specialize in the training of trainers in a business context and training consulting specialized. We do not train business coaches, life coaches or moderators on the side.
We also don’t moderate an HR event on the side or hold some time management seminar in a hotel.
However, for some other providers, Train the Trainer is nothing more than a side business.
We learn new methods and trainer technologies every week.
For you, this means that each new round of our online trainer training is a further improved version.
We put a lot of heart and soul into the following aspects of training:

3) Distinction between employees vs. self-employed persons
Employed online trainers sometimes have to overcome different challenges than self-employed online trainers.
These two types of participants are also the reason why we offer many optional training sessions (included in the price).
We are aware that employed trainers
- have to answer for themselves internally, in some cases to “secure” themselves.
You may have to design online training courses (in large companies), which others may carry out.
Some employees are responsible for the selection / evaluation of other external trainers.
The internal application / positioning of open training offers and coordination with the management / corporate development or HR are also important topics.
The included training round “Structure for large seminar programs”, for example, is of most interest to employed trainers who work in the HR area of corporations.
We know that independent trainers
- often want more practice in media creation / video creation.
Self-employed people are also grateful for working methods in the area of online marketing for trainers and training sales.
Self-employed people are almost always faced with the question: “What content should I publish freely in marketing, and in what form?”
This is precisely why we offer training sessions. The included training rounds “Online marketing for online training” and the training round “Professional video presence” are more likely to be attended by our freelancers.
Show us a trainer academy that conducts sales calls together with an independent trainer or optimizes the process for order clarification calls for online training.
- We’re not meeting you in a fancy hotel. In fact, this frame can feel very good.
- We do not promise to hire you as a trainer or to book you after your training. (Note: If a provider calls you a “partner” from the outset, something is not just wrong).
- Most of our trainers are also trained coaches. However, we deliberately do not offer coach training. We will be happy to explain to you in conversation why we don’t want that.
After the training, you are not a “trainer and coach” or a “consultant, trainer and coach”, but a “certified online trainer”.
- We still don’t have gray temples. This means that you may be older as a participant than some of us. As we treat all participants with respect, this has never been a problem.
Our internal exam consists of a 15-minute training sequence, which you have prepared and will complete online in Zoom on the last Saturday (morning or afternoon). You will receive constructive feedback from the group and the trainers after the exam.
To take the exam to become a BDVT-certified online trainer, you must first register in writing using a form.
We will then help you to design a 1/2-day online training course. The association receives the concept for review.
You carry out a sequence (part) of your prepared online training live on a date agreed with us. We quote the BDVT: “The sequence should be chosen in such a way that the understanding of the role is recognizable, the dealing with
the participants, the use of media and methods as well as a
a goal-oriented approach is visible.” We will discuss exactly what this means in the exam preparation workshop.
After this sequence, you will receive constructive online feedback from the association’s examiner in a technical discussion.
We exist to double the lifetime income of our participants.
We observe that our participants earn more as a result of our training.
For salaried employees, however, the salary is initially limited by the company. It has been shown that salary increases are made possible by internal position changes, taking on more responsibility (as a trainer) and later, if necessary, by changing employer.
We have seen profit increases of 30 percent for self-employed people in some cases – within a year.
There are also trainers, whether employed or self-employed, for whom a “knot bursts in their head” during our training. Here are two examples from 2022:
- A self-employed trainer was dependent on the income she had from several IHKs. She had to travel long distances every week and was hardly able to get a fee increase anywhere. One agent even put her under increasing pressure in terms of deadlines and fees.
With the feedback from other participants and her new knowledge (also about the training market) as well as her newly gained self-confidence in the field of online training, she began to switch to other academies and say goodbye to the IHKs. She has increased her monthly income by 50 percent within 4 months. - During our training, an employed sales manager offered his employer the opportunity to take on internal training. In the meantime, he has moved up one position, in particular because his training is considered valuable internally. He had improved by one pay grade. (We did not ask for the amount.) A few weeks ago, he informed us that he was able to negotiate another improvement internally. In particular, his coaching activities also gave him greater visibility with superiors and management.
No, of course we have not included working through the video modules in the overall scope of our online trainer training.
We believe that certain participants are particularly interested in certain educational videos. However, other video topics may not be important here and now. (This may be done at a later date.)
It therefore makes little sense to calculate the running time of all videos or a fictitious editing time.
Excluding the OnDemand video modules, our training program therefore comprises 29 hours.
If you wanted to work through all the OnDemand videos, it would take you about half a working day!
The Corporate Training Academy’s online trainer training is particularly suitable for people who
- Have three or more years of professional experience
- and experience that can be conveyed in a business training course
- The training is suitable for people who have an expert role in the company (e.g. building safety consultant / risk manager / combustion engine engineer / salesperson) or who work in a generalist function (e.g. group leader / manager / GF / sales manager) or who work in a project management function (e.g. project manager / case manager etc.).
The training is particularly suitable for anyone who would like to share their experience and knowledge and have the patience to help other people in their professional development.
Our experience shows that it doesn’t matter whether you are particularly extraverted or introverted.
In this train-the-trainer program, all examples and methods relate to a professional context. professional context. You should not complete our training if, for example
- want to teach life coaching topics in training courses or become a life coach,
- training courses that are almost exclusively related to the private world of your participants. Examples include “relationship training”, “sports training” and “yoga training”
- Always wanted to “coach people with depression (a mental illness)” (This is forbidden in Germany.)
There are many participants in our groups who already hold online training courses. They have all stated that they have benefited enormously from our training.
In the broad sense of the definition: Yes. In our opinion, a business trainer is someone who conveys business topics in (online) training courses and enables participants to transfer their learning.
Our online trainer training relates exclusively to a business context.
Please note, however, that the major German trainer associations will only grant you the term “business trainer” if you have completed a full business trainer training course and passed the examination in the relevant association (e.g. BDVT or dvct). This process takes a few months.
After you have completed our training program (including the built-in exam) to become an online trainer, you will receive our certificate with the title “Certified Online Trainer”. You may then use the logo of the Corporate Training Academy.
If you also take the BDVT exam (for which we prepare you throughout the entire training course anyway), you can also call yourself a “BDVT certified online trainer” and use the BDVT logo.
This train-the-trainer course takes place exclusively online (in Zoom, Teams and Big Blue Button).
Coaching or business coaching is the
- Accompaniment
- an individual (the client or coachee)
- for a certain period of time (e.g. over 3 months).
For example, a department head in sales would like to achieve her individual career goals or sales targets with a coach.
A coach meets with the coachee in a confidential setting. He sometimes also addresses challenges in the private sphere. These are therefore one-on-one conversations.
A business trainer pursues the following goals with
- a group of participants
- one or more learning objectives.
- In a business training course, a trainer must focus on the current topic,
pay attention to group dynamics and your own behavior. - A business training course often lasts half a day, a whole day or several seminar days are planned.
The order
- for business training often comes from the HR department or the management of a company.
- In contrast, coaching is relatively often commissioned by the client themselves.
An advisor provides professional guidance to help his client reach a desired goal. Some consultants even assume responsibility (from tax to liability) on the way to the desired result. Many consultants will determine for you which tasks need to be completed in order to reach your desired business goal.
An advisor will bring the “directions” to the desired destination or work them out for you. He/she usually accompanies you to this destination. A consultant is expected to have many years of experience in solving the problem you are facing.
A trainer, like a consultant, is usually superior to the participants in terms of expertise, but prepares the participants for their journey to the desired goal. This enables the participants to help themselves later on. Trainers do not analyze for you in detail (and on an individual level) which tasks need to be completed in order for you to reach your individual goal. Trainers instead practice behaviors with their participants that will later help participants achieve their goals (the type of goal is announced in the training agenda). Business trainers and online trainers are expected to have a lot of experience in their specialist field, but also to be adept at communicating this experience to a whole group of people.
While a consultant is responsible for the design and outcome of the consulting process, a trainer is ultimately not responsible for the work results of his participants.
We have found that many consultants (e.g. management consultants) understand the trainer world very quickly. Among other things, this seems to be due to the fact that
- consultants know many business processes very well, along with the daily challenges for their target group.
- Consultants become aware of the (communication) difficulties that can arise between different departments/stakeholders.
- Consultants are so specialized in their field that they can provide a wealth of useful examples, solutions and models.
Yes, we are. We advise HR departments on expanding their virtual training measures and train business trainers in many companies and organizations in Germany.
The Hesse police have online trainers trained by us, as do the consumer advice center and many other German companies.

Our founder, Marius, heads the online training section of the German trainers’ association BDVT.
Allow 30 minutes between appointment 1 (the first Saturday) and the second to repeat something or work on a selected instructional video.
Allow 45 minutes between the second and third Saturday to practise on a tool together with your training buddy.
Allow 50 minutes between the third and fourth Saturday to prepare your (“small”) exam by ourselves.
However, if you want to take the BDVT exam, you will need to set aside a few hours to, among other things
- prepare a small written paper (we will help you)
- prepare a 30-minute live training session (and please try it out with us!)
- Registration, topic selection and correction loops also take time.
Our groups include experienced trainers, HR experts and (management) consultants. Also coaches, staatl. certified mediators and entrepreneurs are involved.
In the consultation before the training, we ask everyone whether they can imagine working on themselves and repeatedly slipping into the role of trainer and trying out new methods themselves.
Never before has someone with less experience in a particular field (IT, methods, business, psychology, training design) been labeled a beginner or been subliminally devalued.
Especially practitioners from the business world who do not yet have any training experience are admired by many trainers for their in-depth process knowledge or management experience (or expert knowledge).
Conclusion: Our training courses do not “psychologize” and talk about clever interventions. Instead, we always work on joint tasks that anyone who has put their heart and head into it beforehand can solve.
Sorry, but we’re not an advertising platform for con artists who promote fast-ball offers (and have no idea what they’re doing).
You are welcome to look for another apprenticeship.
We want participants who want to learn how to design and skillfully deliver online training. Participants who promise others that they will become rich in a few weeks and hand out their business cards before the training has even started are simply not what our groups need.

Guarantee 1) First certificate, then invoice: The amount is only due after completion of the training.
Guarantee 2) Start earning with the new knowledge: The amount can be paid in up to two installments.
Guarantee 3) Guaranteed to reach your goal: On request, you will receive as many free coaching sessions as you need until you have practiced and understood all aspects of your training.
The answer for the majority of methods is: Yes!
Even if there are some variations in the real room (some of which are obvious), you can use around 70% of the methods in a similar form in a training room on site.
Even certain online training tools are suitable for training in a real space. But please don’t overdo it. Isn’t it nice to work in a real space with tangible objects, flipcharts and pinboards?
The exam takes place online (in Zoom).

After a whiz-bang start and numerous successful projects as a trainer for communication and leadership, Daniel has moved into the world of trainer education.
He was able to gain valuable professional experience in startups and media companies on the one hand, and in the field of personnel consulting and management consulting on the other. Among other things, Daniel is a certified online trainer, certified SCRUM Master as well as a certified business coach.
In keeping with the philosophy of our company, he lives the ideal of solution orientation and attaches great importance to strengthening the self-competence of our participants.
Marius Jost, M.Sc., Program Management
Marius Jost has been leading the trainer training of the Institute for Systemic Training as well as the online training specialist group of the BDVT since 2013. He is a teaching trainer at the TAM Academy in Berlin and at FORUM Institut für Management in Heidelberg. As a trainer, he brings over 7,000 hours of paid training experience.
Marius originally started his career as an IT analyst and later developed into a lobbying specialist for the IT industry. He served clients such as Microsoft, SAP, T-Systems and the German power exchange EEX. Most recently, he was able to gain further experience as communications manager at STADA. Marius is a systemic business coach (DBVC).

As a university lecturer who also offers training and coaching in companies, from March I was in the situation of having to offer seminars online overnight. Students were left to their own devices and immediately (because the semester started) needed online teaching that was informative, entertaining, structured, and supportive. My research led me to IST.
